The service has existed across multiple Swedish election cycles.
Case · public digital service
Vallokaler.org — a nationwide election information service built and operated by 3on.
A project first launched for the 2018 election and rebuilt for Sweden’s 2026 election: searchable polling-place information, automated data ingestion and a clear public-information experience designed to get people to the right answer quickly.
Public information that must stay simple, current and trustworthy.
Polling places and early-voting locations across Sweden.
Official open data is imported and refreshed continuously.
Search and location information come before unnecessary steps.
The product challenge
A case that demonstrates more than website design.
Vallokaler.org combines information architecture, search, data integration, scheduled synchronisation, WordPress development, local SEO and one clear user task: find where to vote. It shows how 3on can own content, technology and the operational layer behind a service.
2018 → 2026
From an older election website to a modern data-driven service.
For 2026 the solution was rebuilt around its real core: current data and fast search. The service should update without manually importing thousands of records while remaining understandable to a person who simply wants to know where and when to vote.
Official open data
Integration with published Swedish Election Authority data for polling places and early voting, with the source clearly attributed.
Automated updates
Scheduled synchronisation keeps the local database current as source data changes.
Search and local information
Visitors move from a question to a relevant place without navigating a traditional institutional information hierarchy.
Custom WordPress solution
WordPress is the engine while theme, data logic, imports and the experience are built for this specific use case.
SEO and machine-readable structure
Clear pages, metadata and information architecture make the service easier to discover and understand beyond the homepage.
Long-term operation
This is not a one-off launch. The product can change between elections as data sources, requirements and user behaviour evolve.
Service flow
Source → sync → searchable service → user.
Official polling and early-voting location data.
Data is refreshed repeatedly instead of maintained manually.
Places and practical information become understandable to visitors.
The outcome is a useful answer, not a demonstration of technical complexity.
What the case demonstrates
This is what we mean by a senior digital partner.
A public service with an external data source requires more than design. Data modelling, imports, error handling, source attribution, performance, information architecture, mobile use, SEO and operations have to work together. Companies face the same type of responsibility in internal systems, portals, websites and data-driven services.
Next engagement
Do you have data, information or a workflow that should become a real service?
3on can help from information architecture and integrations to search, web, automation, operations and continuous development.
